The 75th session of American Legion Auxiliary Minnesota Girls State will be held June 12-18, 2022 @ Bethel University in St. Paul. Any 2021-2022 High School Junior girl interested in attending is welcome to apply. We have scholarships available.

DIABETES PREVENTION: A “WEIGHTY” IDEA

Benjamin Franklin once said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure…” and Medicare has adopted this “weighty” idea. Medicare covers preventative services at 100% to prevent and/or detect diseases early when they are most easily treated. Diabetes is one such disease.

Question: I have a question about pickups with their wide tires sticking outside of the fender wells, is that illegal? I always thought there were supposed to be fenders? I know they throw a lot of rocks around. I don’t think that’s right.

NEW TO MEDICARE VIRTUAL CLASS

Learning what to do when you become eligible for Medicare can seem overwhelming. This class is for people who will be new to Medicare and would like to learn about Medicare Parts A, B, C and D. Topics will include a comprehensive introduction to Medicare including what Medicare covers, supplemental insurance and Part D prescription coverage. During the class you will learn the Medicare enrollment details, how to get the most from your benefits and how to research your Medicare plan options using the Medicare.gov site.

GOOD NEWS

Remember when you first fell in love and were nearly inseparable with the one you loved? Many of those around you in all probability said, “They will get over it!” That is exactly what happened to many of God’s children in the Church at Ephesus in the first century. “They got over it!” What happened was they stopped loving Christ first. Life with all its business took their time and Jesus was moved to the back seat.

It is March. Come next week will be the official start of spring on the calendar, but actual spring weather will have to wait a bit. We will know what Spring arrives by the weather, our yard and outside.

MCC CHOIR COMPETES WELL IN PIPESTONE

A Large Group Contest was held in Pipestone on March 15th. The MCC Choir got a Superior and 2 Excellent ratings! Congratulations to Director Christie Gergen and the students on a job well done. They also received instruction from Dr. Kingsbury who worked with the students.
