MCNEALS NAMED AS 2026 FULDA WOOD DUCK PARADE GRAND MARSHALS

By Norma Dittman Leading this year’s Fulda Wood Duck Parade will be Grand Marshals Dean and Shirley McNeal. The parade will be on Saturday evening, June 20, 6 p.m., under the theme of Find Yourself.

SAMMONS FAMILY ADDS 11 MEMORIAL BRICKS IN CURRIE

By Norma Dittman Eleven memorial bricks, with each one cast with the last name of Sammons, were recently added to the Currie Veterans Memorial at End O Line Park. “They were to be added in time for this year’s Memorial Day, and with that being the case, we also decided to have a Sammons family reunion on Saturday, May 23rd, in Currie,” John Sammons explained. “There were another eleven bricks added by other families, too. Currie has an absolutely beautiful Veterans Memorial.”

SLAYTON PUBLIC LIBRARY INVITES TEENS TO CREATE ART

This summer, the Slayton Public Library is launching two programs to encourage local teenagers to express their creativity. From beginners looking for a fun morning of creativity with friends to serious artists aiming for their first professional commission, the library is the place for creative teens of all levels! Both of the following programs are open to Murray County residents from ages 13 to 19: Teen Art Studio and Teen Art Showcase.

GIRLS GOLF TEAM, LANDSMAN ADVANCE TO POST-SEASON

May 19: Worthington Invite Cold temperatures and rainy conditions once again greeted the Murray County Central golf teams as they hosted a dual against Worthington at Slayton Country Club. Despite competing on their home course, the Rebels faced challenges staying mentally focused in the difficult weather conditions.

REBELS DELIVER CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCE AT SOUTH SUB-SECTIONS

The Murray County Central Rebels turned in a dominant performance at the South Sub-Section Track and Field Meet in Luverne, capturing the boys team championship and advancing a large group of athletes to the upcoming Section Meet.

BUTTERMAKERS REMAIN UNBEATEN

Mother nature rained out Hadley’s Friday night ‘s game against perennial Gopher league favorite Luverne Redbirds, but Sunday was a beautiful day for baseball as Hadley took on Worthington. Here is the game recap:
