FULDA PUBLIC SCHOOL ONE OF 97 MINNESOTA SCHOOLS RECOGNIZED AS CHAMPIONS OF POSITIVE SCHOOL CULTURE, STUDENT BEHAVIOR

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) recently celebrated 97 schools representing 41 districts across the state for their sustained commitment to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), including Fulda Public School. Additionally, MDE recognized nine districts for districtwide efforts. These schools and districts have demonstrated exceptional leadership in increasing student achievement, improving school climate, and engaging in the community.

BOOK INSPIRED BY MURRAY COUNTY FAMILY HISTORY RETURNS TO ITS ROOTS

Author Naomi Yaeger will return to Murray County in August as part of her southwest Minnesota book tour featuring Blooming Hollyhocks: Tales of Joy During Hard Times, the true story of her mother, Janette Minehart Yaeger, growing up in southwest Minnesota during the Great Depression and World War II home front years. The book is based on family stories, interviews, and historical research that bring to life the people and communities that shaped an earlier generation.

WEBER RECEIVES MINNESOTA LEGACY AWARD FROM THE COALITION OF GREATER MINNESOTA CITIES

State Sen. Bill Weber (R-Luverne) has been named a recipient of the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities’ (CGMC) Minnesota Legacy Award. The award recognizes retiring legislators who have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to Greater Minnesota and made extraordinary contributions throughout their careers. Weber received the award during the CGMC’s Legislative Awards dinner on July 23 in New Ulm as part of its annual summer conference.
