BUFFALO RIDGE TASKFORCE INFO SHARED WITH COMMISSIONERS

By Joanne Bergman The Murray County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 with all members present. There were no conflicts of interest identified. The only addition to the agenda was discussion of a letter from the DNR received by Commissioner Gunnink.

REMINDER

The Minnesota Propane Association has received multiple questions regarding snow around and on top of propane tanks. Snow buildup on your propane tank can affect the performance of the propane system.

WARRIOR WRESTLERS COMPETE AT REDWOOD FALLS QUAD

The Fulda Murray County Central Warrior wrestling team has begun the long home stretch of their season after a long holiday vacation by travelling to Redwood Falls for a quadrangular. Their opponents were tough starting with the Minneota Vikings, followed by Minnewaska, and finishing up with Redwood Valley.

MURRAY COUNTY 4-H HOST MULTI-GENERATIONAL COMMUNITY NIGHT

Murray County 4-H was awarded a Monogram Foods Loves Kids Foundation Grant to host multi-generational community events. The third of five Community Nights was hosted this last Sunday at the Murray County 4-H Building. Winter Olympics was the event for the day where there were several events that people competed in which included snowball fights, pool noodle hockey, snowflake salt drawings, 100-meter snow race, bread making, and many more. Soups and bread were served during the event.

MURRAY COUNTY EDA PROGRAM AVAILABILITY

The Murray County Economic Development Authority (EDA) has some great programs for 2023 to assist with both housing and business. The Murray County Home Initiative is a good opportunity for anyone planning to build a home in Murray County.

COMMISSIONERS ORGANIZE FOR THE YEAR

The oath of office was administered to newly elected commissioner Jackie Meyer and to reelected commissioner Dennis Welgraven. Newly elected Sheriff Heath Landsman along with reelected County officials Heidi Winter and Karen Brown were sworn into their positions.
