Chandler Co-op has been an integral part of Murray County since 1958, supporting our local Ag Industry and providing cutting edge technologies. They have 7 filling locations in Murray County: 2 in Slayton (Maple Ave and Hwy 30), Lake Wilson, Iona Leota, Edgerton, and Chandler. Jeff Einck has been at the helm of Chandler Co-op for the past 3 years since April 2020 and has been with the company since 2001.

He, along with an active board of farmer directors, strives to look for economic ways to improve and enhance the services that Chandler Co-op offers. One of those opportunities presented itself last year when Einck was able to apply for a grant to upgrade the pumps to allow for higher blend ethanol fuels to be offered. Chandler Co-op was one of 27 greater MN companies that were awarded this grant. The grant will help to cover 65% of the gas related costs to upgrade the pumps to biofuel at the Chandler Co-op Highway 30 Slayton location. One big push for this upgrade is that the patrons that support Chandler Co-op are the same people that provide this fuel source – OUR FARMERS. Ethanol is also cleaner for the environment and causes less wear and tear on our vehicles. People want it and E15 also known as 88 octane is around $0.20 cents cheaper than E10.

Once the work is completed you will be able to get E-85, E-50, E-30 and E-15 at the Chandler Co-op Card trol location in Slayton at more islands. Currently there is one blender pump but once the project is completed there will be 3. The ease of use is also something many people enjoy. Located on the West side of Slayton on Highway 30 as you leave town, the Cardtrol allows you to use both your Patron Card which gives you dividends each year or your credit card and is open 24-hours.

Groundbreaking to transform the Slayton location will begin on May 1st. They will be removing the pumps and tearing out all the current cement. They will then run new underground lines to all the current pump stations. Chandler Co-op has also decided to add another diesel island off to the east which will be a high speed pump with an extra set of hoses to fill both sides of a semi at once. This new pump will pump 30 gallons a minute. Once this is completed, they will pour all new cement, islands and set all the pump dispensers. Weather permitting this project should take about a month. While this site is closed, please remember our other locations where our local patron cards will also work.

A big thank you goes out to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and Minnesota Corn Growers for making this grant possible. Einck looks forward to being able to offer Murray County the option to purchase a cleaner fuel source that comes from our own backyards.
