MURRAY COUNTY CHRISTMAS PROJECT The Murray County Christmas Project is again planning to provide toys and gifts to over 300 eligible children in Murray County. We are accepting donations of toys and gifts for children 0 through 11 years of age.

USDA ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS TO HELP COVER COSTS OF ORGANIC, TRANSITIONING PRODUCERS

Agricultural producers and handlers who are certified organic, along with producers and handlers who are transitioning to organic production, can now apply for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Organic and Transitional Education Certification Program (OTECP) and Organic Certification Cost Share Program (OCCSP), which help producers and handlers cover the cost of organic certification, along with other related expenses. Applications for OTECP and OCCSP are both due October 31, 2022.

MCC FALLS TO ARROWS AT HOME

In non conference action, the Pipestone Area Arrows were in Slayton to take on host Murray County Central Rebels. MCC, just coming off an exciting win in Edgerton, were looking to continue to improve.

MCC TAKES THE WIN AGAINST MINNESOTA VALLEY LUTHERAN

The MCC Rebels entered week 7 of the high school football season with a lot on the line. The Rebels were looking for a win to guarantee an above .500 record for the season and to take another step closer to securing an extra home game in the first round of the playoffs. Standing in the Rebels way was the 5-2 Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers. This game was played in stages, a crazy first quarter followed by a defense dominated three quarters but in the end the Rebels would get the win they needed.

Peterbuilt As my husband arrived home after work one evening, in tow he had more than his usual weathered leather briefcase. Today, at arm’s length was a rectangular box with clear plastic covering revealing the secret within. As I peered into the box, a long white child size Peterbilt Truck stared back. Each black tire spit clean for go-power, the plastic trailer untouched, and the magnificence of the lookalike to the real deal—well— shall we say—looked magnificent!
