EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT GRANTS ARE ACCEPTED

By Joanne Bergman The Murray County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday, July 6. A meeting delayed from the usual Tuesday meeting date due to the 4th of July holiday. Auditor Treasurer Heidi Winter presented the list of warrants to be approved by the Board.

DISCUSES WATER PLANT

By Jenny Kirk The Slayton City Council spent the majority of its July 6 meeting having a robust discussion en route to making a decision regarding the water treatment plant filter. City Administrator Josh Malchow explained that a media replacement had been budgeted for this year but that other potential issues with the water system were identified when the contractor went to replace the media.

FALL 2023 EMT CLASS BEGINS IN SEPTEMBER

Pipestone County’s next hybrid EMT certification class begins Tuesday, Sept. 5. The class includes a live lecture portion on Monday evenings from 6 – 10 p.m. at 811 5th St. SE in Pipestone. The class will also meet one Saturday per month at the same location for skills sessions during the 20-week program.
