COURT QUEEN OF PEACE

Court Queen of Peace met Nov. 16 for Memorial Mass at 5:30 celebrated by Father Peter Schuster remembering Mary Gaul, Doris Cote and Bernadine Kremer. Following a delicious meal the meeting was called to order with prayer and flag pledge by Vice-regent Deanna Konkol. In the absence of the recording secretary no report was given. Treasurer Betty Palmer gave her report. Financial secretary Barb Minnehan reported membership at 65.Correspondence was read from Alice Knutson and seminarian Andy Reiner.

SOS chair Jill McCord forwarded information that she had sent a donation to each of the seminarians.

Legislative chair Jan Bryan assured the group that while the legislature is not in session it is still a good time to contact legislators about abortion issues and defend the humanity of the unborn and walk with women in need.

After visiting unfinished business it was decided to postpone until spring the ‘Handbag Silent Auction’ due to lack of time to display and bid on the handbags. Jeaneen Nelson cochair for ‘egg bake breakfast’ said they have met and will be calling members for breakfast items and to work on Dec. 3, the day of the breakfast. Barb Minnehan said she was pleased with the quantity of items donated for the Dudley House in Sioux Falls. Those items included more than underwear and socks all of which can be used at the House. The items will be delivered Nov. 20. The donation to Hawaii was rescinded on a motion made by Karen Juenemann but a donation of a lesser amount will still be sent. Christmas baskets will again be put together on Dec. 17 at 11 AM at Divine Mercy Hall. Donations of food and gift certificates are welcome. The next gathering will be a meeting and Christmas celebration at the Pizza Ranch on Wed., Dec. 13 at 5:30.
