MCC FOOTBALL ENDS THE SEASON 4-4

The MCC Rebels were back on the road Tuesday night to play the Adrian Ellsworth Dragons in the opening round of the Section 3A Football playoffs. The Rebels were the 5th seeded team out of the eight teams in the section. They were back in Adrian, who the Rebels lost to in week 3 of the season. In September the Rebels and the Dragons played a low-scoring game in which the Dragons used a key late-game interception to end the Rebel’s chances of a come-from-behind win. Tuesday would show how the two teams have developed over the course of the season as the Dragons would end the Rebels season.

Know What You Believe

THIS CHURCH OR THAT CHURCH – THAT IS THE QUESTION. I have served as pastor in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) for nearly 50 years and over that time I have been amazed at the lack of understanding about church denominations and other world influences around them.

GREEN THUMB

By Arnold Krusemark Next week will have Halloween as well as the end of another month - October. We hope your plans will go ok. This writer remembers what we did for Halloween in country school. Usually we had a Halloween party. The kids (and teacher) got dressed up in costumes, we had Halloween games which included a lunch of sort. That was the only time we remember bobbing for apples (literally), hanging a doughnut by a string and seeing who could eat theirs the first without any of the doughnut hitting the floor. And other games. Our mothers helped out, of course. In this writer’s case the costume was sewed and became a new pair of pajamas after Halloween. So much for that. We rather missed that teacher when she moved on.

THEOLOGY IN THE TRENCHES

Theology in the Trenches By Kathleen Kjolhaug I Will Fight for You Exodus 14:14 reminds me of what I must do. “I will fight for you, you need only be silent.” I took a walk this morning and on it, I thought of you.
