Murray County was fortunate to have two recipients, Tyler Reith and Levi Kopperud, be selected to receive a Minnesota Youth Beef Experience Program (MYBEP) heifer at the 2023 Minnesota Beef Expo. Each year at the Minnesota Beef Expo, experienced cattle producers across the region generously donate heifers, typically one from each of the following breeds: Black Angus, Red Angus, Shorthorn, Her-eford, Simmental, Charolais, Maine Anjou, and South Devon.

In the first round of tournament volleyball action, the Murray County Central Rebels got off to a slow start against the Red Rock Central Falcons. The Falcons clearly came to play and jumped out to a nice lead in the first set in Slayton.

By Allie Paulzine, Student Reporter The majority of the crosscountry season has come and gone. On Thursday, October 26th the Warriors competed at the section 3A meet with many runners hopeful for a chance to compete at the state tournament on Saturday, November 4th.

The Murray County Central Rebels’ volleyball season ended in Okabena, but it wasn’t quite the cake walk it was in regular season. MCC started out with adrenaline running a little high, sailing the first two serves deep out of bounds, allowing the host to jump out to a nine point lead in a set that Rebel fans hoped wouldn’t set the tone for the night.

On Tuesday, the Murray County Central Theatre Department was down to singledigit practices remaining before its presentation of the fall musical “Grease.” And while it wasn’t a dress rehearsal day, the students and crew still took it seriously and made the practice time count as they whole-heartedly look forward to entertaining the audience with their high-energy performance of the popular coming-of-age play set in the late 1950s.
