The Slayton Friends of the Library are having a silent auction with all proceeds going to the Slayton Public Library. The auction is set for Monday, October 23, through Saturday, the 28th. Items can be viewed in the Community Room during regular library hours. Items will include fall and holiday decorations, gift items, baby items, quilted and other handcrafted pieces. Proceeds from the 2022 auction were used to purchase lighter weight tables for the Community Room. The Friends have also used auction proceeds to assist with the water cooler and Keurig supplies, contributions to the new circulation desk, children’s toys, and other items in the library.

A potential partnership with Nobles Cooperative Electric and a change in the special assessment percentage for Maple Avenue property owners topped the discussions at the Slayton City Council meeting on Monday, Oct. 16 at City Hall.
