FATHER DAUGHTER PROM SET FOR SUNDAY, JUNE 26, 2022

The Slayton Women of Today is once again excited to be sponsoring their annual Father Daughter Prom on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Gullord Park in Slayton. Dads it’s time to make some special memories with your daughter(s). Dance the afternoon away at the park with music by DJ Pete Beerman.

FAIR GROUNDS IMPROVEMENTS SLATED

The Murray County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. All members of the board including Chairperson Molly Malone, Lori Gunnink, Jim Kluis, Dennis Walgraven and David Thiner were present.

SLAYTON AREA COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT JUNE 30TH

The Slayton Area Community Band welcomes you to Gullord Park on Thursday, June 30th at 7:00 PM for our fourth concert of the season. This concert is our Patriotic concert! We will be having a special guest and piccolo expert Dr. Janet Heukeshoven from St. Mary’s University be joining us for this concert. EVERYONE is welcome to attend! We will start with “The Star Spangled Banner” and continue with “Fanfare Americana”, An American Celebration”, “Let Freedom Ring”, “Big Four March”, “Sing for America”, “Armed Forces- The Pride of America”, “American Salute”, and “The Stars and Stripes Forever”. BUTTERMAKERS WIN 1, DROP DOUBLEHEADER

The Hadley Buttermakers managed one victory over the week but had a disappointing Sunday as they got outplayed and outpitched in losing a double-header. Here is the week’s recap: Wednesday at Worthington The Buttermakers traveled to Worthington to take on Gopher League opponent, Cubs.

SEASON ENDS FOR MCC LADY GOLFERS IN BECKER

The 2022 golf season was not ideal due to cold and rainy spring weather. Many courses were unplayable or had very wet conditions early in the season. However, that didn’t stop MCC’s golfers from shooting for their goals for the year. The girl’s team had many returners with varsity experience. They would go on to win a few meets throughout the season. The Rebels earned the Section 3A title, and placed 7th at the Class A State Tournament. The boys had many returning, as well as some new players. They were able to do well individually, but struggled as a team against a tough conference line-up.
