SCC ANNOUNCES GRADUATES

South Central released its official list of graduates for the 2021-22 academic year by community and semester graduated. For students who completed their awards and degrees in the Fall 2021 Semester ending in December 2021, final graduation eligibility has been confirmed. For students completing their awards and degrees in the Spring 2022 or Summer 2022 Semesters, final graduation eligibility will be confirmed following an auditing process of their final semester grades at SCC.

MURRAY COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD MET IN JULY

Murray County Central School Board met on Monday, July 11th. They approved the agenda and financials for the month. They also approved the resignation of Dee Ragan who had currently been on a leave, as well as setting the official depositary for the school district for FY23 to Minnwest Bank Slayton-Lake Wilson, State Bank of Chandler, and First National Bank Slayton.

MONOGRAM LOVES KIDS FOUNDATION DONATES $6,331 FOR NEW PLAY EQUIPMENT AT GULLORD PARK

A grant from Monogram Loves Kids Foundation (a charitable activity of Monograms Foods), helped to complete the funding package for new play equipment at Gullord Park. The park improvement project was started in 2021 as a joint effort of the Murray County Foundation and the Murray County Daycare Association. Other community groups and business organizations joined the effort. The City of Slayton contributed the installation cost of the new Roxall Teeter Totter. The new equipment is designed to encourage children of different ages and physical abilities to enjoy playing together. MURRAY COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS HOSTING SUMMER GARDEN TOUR ON JULY 21

Make plans now to attend the 2022 Murray County Master Gardeners’ Summer Garden Tour on Thursday, July 21 from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Slayton area after a two year COVID hiatis. NAPS (SECOND HARVEST)

Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) in the Slayton area, sponsored by Second Harvest Heartland distribution will be held at the office of A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota – Murray County at 2989 Maple Rd., Slayton MN. SLAYTON AREA COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT JULY 14TH

The Slayton Community Band will be performing a concert of OUR FAVORITES at Gullord Park on Thursday, July 14 at 7:00 P.M. If there is a particular piece that you heard this summer that you want to hear again, let any band member or director know by July 12. The young people’s march around the park for this concert will be to “The Trombone King”. Our favorite pieces we have done throughout the summer will be included along with a new one called “Cantabile” (which in Italian means in a singing style/manner). We hope to see at our last concert in July!
