THEOLOGY IN THE TRENCHES

Whose Child Was He? Theology in the Trenches By Kathleen Kjolhaug (I use the male pronoun based on my personal experience which led to this writing.) I could not help but wonder as I passed nearby. Or as I shared a dollar as he gave a sigh.

GOOD NEWS

GOOD NEWS By John Stenen What is the unpardonable sin? Many people believe they have committed it and believe there is no hope for them. In Matthew 12:31-32, Jesus addresses this problem and He is speaking to the religious leaders of His day.

LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE

“Anger carried to excess begets madness... The outcome of anger is a mental raving, and therefore anger is to be avoided not for the sake of moderation, but for the sake of sanity.” -Seneca There is a Spanish expression, “como agua para chocolate” which translates as “like water for chocolate.” The expression refers to making hot chocolate or cocoa, and means on the verge of boiling, and metaphorically this means when one is emotionally on the verge of boiling over.

“BRINGING CHRIST TO THE NATIONS, AND THE NATIONS TO THE CHURCH.”

That is the motto of Lutheran Hour Ministries. It’s also the goal of the Lutheran Heritage Foundation, which is dedicated to translating and publishing, distributing and introducing books that are Bible-based, Christ-centered and Reformation-driven. This worldwide effort is coming to Slayton on Sunday, August 4, as Rev. Mark Moss speaks to the faithful at Trinity Lutheran Church.
