REBEL GIRLS LOSE VS. RRC FALCONS

The MCC Rebel Girls’ Basketball team was on the road this past Thursday night to take on the Falcons of Red Rock Central. The Falcons have been very consistent over the years battling with the top teams in the Red Rock Conference. They have been in the top half of the Red Rock this season even with a large number of injuries and illnesses that have cost the team key players nearly all season. Karli Arkell has been one of those players but she was back on the floor against the Rebels who were looking to turn their season around after an ugly loss to the Wolverines of Mountain Lake Area Comfrey on Monday night. The Rebels would play one of their best halves of basketball this season against Red Rock Central but it wouldn’t be

GIRLS HAVE TOUGH LOSS AT HOME VS. SWC

The MCC Rebels finished a busy week at home against the Eagles of Southwest Minnesota Christian. The Eagles are at the top of the Red Rock Conference again this season with a young roster that includes just a pair of seniors. The Eagles are a team that will give the Rebels problems because they are big and fast plus they like to pressure the ball all over the floor. The outcome of this game was decided early on.

CLOSE GAME FOR GIRLS VS. HLOF

The MCC Rebels were back at home on Tuesday when they played host to the Coyotes of Heron Lake Okabena Fulda. The Rebels were starting the second half of their schedule against the Coyotes who beat them by 15 points back in December. The Coyotes are a senior-dominated team who with a win would get back to 500 with a 9-9 record. The Rebels were hoping for their first conference win of the season. The Rebels would play a much more aggressive game on the defensive end but offensive struggles would cost them another game.

REBEL BOYS SECURE WIN AT HOME AGAINST HLOF

Tuesday was a good night for basketball as the 7 and 8th grade both won against TMB and the C, B, and A teams all earned wins over HLOF. The C-team would earn a 40- 28 win being very aggressive on offense as the team put up 53 shots throughout the game.

BOYS LOSE TO RTR ON THE ROAD

The C-squad was off to a good start against RTR in Tyler Tuesday night, but couldn’t sustain that level of play against a strong RTR squad. Going down 24-14 at halftime and eventually falling 49-25. Hudson Schryvers led the Rebels with 8 points, Dawson Schreier had 5, Andrew Holm 4 and Gavin Gillette had 4, and Dylan Kluis had 3, and Carson Englekes had 1.

WRESTLERS HAVE A BUSY WEEK

The FMCC Warriors had another busy week with a triangular in Springfield against Springfield and the Adrian Dragons. There was much anticipation going into the Tri for another chance at Adrian but the Dragons would be a bit too much as the Warriors lost at some of the earlier weights where they had wins before.

Rebel Roundup

We are approaching an important time for our students and staff as they will be taking the MCA tests shortly. Our district is evaluated and compared to all other schools based on our test scores each year. MCC Schools has a strong tradition of excellent scores and ranks very high in the state of Minnesota. I encourage you to stress to your student how important it is to do their best on these tests. In addition to working hard on the practice tests, students should get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast for best results. Thank you in advance for your support and assistance in educating your child. It truly does take a village to raise our children. Please check out our website for additional tips for study skills and homework help. I have included 10 Ways to help your child be successful during testing season.
