The Rebels competed in their second of four varsity conference meets this past Thursday. The boys stayed home at Slayton Country Club, while the girls went to Sanborn. It turned out to be a great day for golf even though the players started off with some drizzling rain.
In Sanborn, the girls started off a little rocky. Only one player from MCC had ever played at Farmers Golf and Health Club; which made the already difficult course more difficult. However, the Rebels were able to improve their scores during the second round. At the end of the day MCC came in tied for 1st place as a team with 419, and moved their conference standing into 2nd place. Ciera Tutt led the Rebels with a 96, and close behind her Elie Meyer carded a 98. Tutt took the 4th place medal and Meyer 5th place individually for the meet.
On the boys side Eli Hernandez led for the Rebels. He shot 5 pars with a total of 91, tying in 4th place individually. Right behind him was McKade Gillette who carded a 98. As a team, the boys finished in 3rd place with a 390. Currently, they are sitting in 4th place in the conference standings.
