AVOCA – After a hiatus of almost two decades, Avoca Fun in the Sun, a festival in the city of Avoca, is making a return. Mark your calendars for June 22-23! The festival will include volleyball, bean bags, kickball, kids’ games, a car roll in, a street dance, a picnic in the city park and more.

As the school year keeps flying by, we wanted to highlight the youth involved in our After School Adventure Programs with the Fulda and Murray County Central Elementary School Districts. The Slayton City Council held a public hearing on Monday, Feb 26th at 7pm. The intention of this meeting was to take public input regarding the possibility to create a Public Utility in Slayton and to place this question on the ballot for people to vote on at special election on May 14, 2024.
