that making mistakes is often the best way of learning. Future session themes are: Who Pilots your Time, and Never Stop Questioning. The two remaining dates in Fulda are held on March 21 and April 9. MCC remaining dates are March 14 April 11. If your child is interested in attending the two remaining Skills to Succeed sessions, they are $5/ each! As the school year keeps flying by, we wanted to highlight the youth involved in our After School Adventure Programs with the Fulda and Murray County Central Elementary School Districts. With 45 students involved, these monthly sessions have allowed students to learn about themselves and the community they live in to help find their inner spark!
Each session includes a healthy snack, games, and projects to dive into learning! As always, there is a reflection at the end of each session where 4-H’ers will share with others what they have learned. The Fulda session is held on the second Tuesday of each school year month at their elementary school. MCC’s session is held on the second Thursday of each school year month at the Murray County 4-H Building.
Session theme’s that the two groups have completed up to this point include: National 4-H Week Conversations and Communications, designing a new Minnesota, where 4-H youth learned all about the New Minnesota State Flag from Anita Gaul who served on the commission to help determine the new design. As Kids Say Today “Chill,” which worked with youth learning different skill sets to help with conflict resolution and Calming Strategies, Standing up for Youth where youth learned about when it is appropriate to stand up for oneself or peers and Letting your Failures Inspire you, which shared all sorts of everyday items that were actually created by mistake, teaching youth
NAPS (SECOND HARVEST)
Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) in the Slayton area, sponsored by Second Harvest Heartland distribution will be held at the office of A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota – Murray County at 2989 Maple Rd., Slayton MN. Distribution will take place on Thursday, March 14th, from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Remember if you cannot be there, please have your proxy pick your items up for you. NAPS (SECOND HARVEST)
