By John Stenen Here we are, celebrating Christmas once again. How shall we do it? Typically we have time off from work; we usually eat pretty good, and we spend lots of money that could have been better spent for necessary items, but, it’s all good, right? Some will drink too much as they gather with family and friends; and of course we have to go see Santa and let the kids have their picture taken with him or her??? Is that politically correct today? My question is, ‘Where is Jesus in all of this?’

MCC LOSES BATTLE AGAINST HBC

On Tuesday, December 12th by played a strong HBC team who would come into the game undefeated and a 3-1 Canby Lancer team in a non-conference battle Friday. Hills came into the game averaging 76 points per game and they were giving up 59, sporting a well balanced attack from all areas of the court.

REBELS CELEBRATE WIN OVER LANCERS

The Rebels would finish off their third game in a row at home Friday night vs. an aggressive Canby Lancer team. The Lancers came into the game with a 3-1 record, averaging 62 points per game and were giving up 52, for a plus 10-point differential. The expectations of this game came to fruition as it seems like most Rebels games have this year. Two good teams, battling it out down to the wire.

REBEL GIRLS FALL TO RTR

The MCC Rebel Girls were in Tyler on Thursday to take on the RTR Knights in a Red Rock Conference matchup. The Rebels have played the Knights for years, so the game isn’t that big of a change, but what will be different is how fast the teams will play again this season later in the year now that RTR has joined the Red Rock Conference. In the first meeting of the season, the game would come down to a key run in the middle of the first half.

WARRIORS WIN AGAINST FALCONS AND ARROWS AT MEET

On December 14th the FMCC Warrior Wrestling team traveled to Lamberton and made an excellent showing against the Red Rock Central Falcons, and the Pipestone Arrows Wrestling teams in a triangular dual meet.

SLAYTON KIWANIS WELCOME

The Slayton Kiwanis and various local organizations are working together to welcome newcomers to the Slayton area by handing out a Kiwanis Welcome – a packet of information, coupons, brochures and gifts to welcome newcomers to the area.
