The kick-off of the 2024 annual Sioux Council-BSA Scouting Campaign in Slayton was the program for Wednesday, March 20th. Slayton Kiwanis has held the charter for Boy Scouts in Slayton since 1952. Our Cub Scout Pack #25 and Troop #25G are recipients of the programs and services that the Sioux Council has been providing youth since 1927. The drive was kicked-off by distributing solicitation cards to Kiwanis members on the 20th. Letters have been mailed to 82 past contributors and other potential contributors informing them that a Kiwanis member will be contacting them soon. Contacts should be completed by mid-April. Contacts contributed $2,800 in 2023. The success of the drive depends on the number of members that take cards and call on previous and potential contributors. This marks the 72nd year that Slayton Kiwanis has supported Scouting in Slayton. They also support other youth projects in the area and are always looking for new projects
