VARIED AGENDA FOR COMMISSIONERS MEETING

The Murray County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday, June 04, 2024. All board members were present for the meeting. Travis Radke’s ditch inspection report included four petitions. These included one each on CD 80,CD 40, CD 57 and CD 75.

GOOD NEWS

By John Stenen Many different groups are supposedly fighting for social justice. In the minds of many, they believe that social injustice is the cause of many wars and social conflict. They say they are tolerant and willing to include everyone. It has been my observation that they often do not include Christians, Jews, or conservatives. It seems to me that they are striving to build a utopia, a wonderful world without God. A world without God would be a horrible world. Just read the Book of Revelations to see what I mean.

BASEBALL VS ADRIAN AREA DRAGONS

The MCC Rebel Baseball team traveled to Yankee Field in Milroy to take on the Adrian Area Dragons in an elimination game in the losers bracket of Section 3a playoffs. The Rebels beat the Dragons twice in the regular season and were hoping to make it three games in a row to advance in the playoffs. The Rebels sent Dylan Kluis to the mound to face Keagan Polzine in a great pitching matchup.

SECTION TRACK AND FIELD HELD IN LUVERNE

The MCC Boys and Girls Track and Field teams traveled to Luverne for the Section 3A meet. Twenty four schools were represented, with individuals and relay teams vying for one of the top two places to qualify for the state track and field meet.

MCC GOLFERS END DAY 2 OF SECTIONS MEET WITH A FIRST PLACE FINISH FOR THE GIRLS TEAM

Day two of the 3A Section Golf Tournament took place this past Wednesday. On the girls side MCC, RTR, Canby and HLOF/WWG were all fighting to punch their ticket to state as a team. There were also four individual girls golfing for the second day. On the boys end Lakeview, HLOF/WWG, Canby and SWMCH-EHS battled for the team title and to advance to the state meet. The boys had 9 individuals competing in day two of the section tournament.

NORTHWESTERN COLLEGE DEAN’S LIST

ORANGE CITY, Iowa— Ashley Hellewell* and Amber Post, students at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, earned a spot on the Academic Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester. The Dean’s List is comprised of students who have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours.
