LETTER TO THE EDITOR
To Vote or not to Vote That is the question I would like to comment on.
Some say they are not voting because their vote won’t count anyway. Well, no kidding, you don’t vote, then there is no vote to be counted. This statement doesn’t make sense, as voting helps plan the future by what candidate/platform you vote for. Next, you are voting for a third party as a protest (because you don’t like either major party candidate) or you may like the third-party platform. Well, no third-party candidate has ever been voted into office and if you don’t inform the world who/ why you voted third party, then no one really knows that you protested.
Now, it is my opinion, that not voting and third party voting is basically advocating for the status quo or no change from the current leadership or party that is in control. How does that make sense? Well you’re not voting for the opposite party that advocates for change of policy/leadership, so you are saying it’s okay if nothing changes. The only way to actually advocate for change is to vote for the opposite major party candidate that will make change and are telling you we are on the wrong path. So I am asking you, if you plan on not voting or third party voting, to consider voting conservative/ republican, because the DFL couldn’t even consider, with an 18 million dollar surplus, maybe dropping “sales” tax on our phone services or electrical services. Check your billing - why is there a sales tax on these services?

Let’s touch base on one more type of individual. Pro-choice, what does that mean? You can’t make up your mind if you are pro-life or pro-death. Oh, Relax, an abortion is ending the life of a future human - no woman has ever given birth to anything but a human.
Let’s try a new term - proprotection. If unwanted pregnancy never happens, then an abortion never happens. It’s no secret that it takes a man and a woman too, oh, you know, unless you didn’t pay attention in sex ed class, to create a baby. You know - sperm meets egg equals conception. Human baby on the way. One other thought - how about we stop using public money to pay for abortions? How about the “sperm donor” foots the bill? I bet a lot of pregnancies could be avoided this way, too.

Let’s do some math - According to a 2020 census, there are 4,388,293 adult citizens in Minnesota, of which, 2,510,661 voted in the governor’s race in 2022. That leaves 1,877,632 million citizens who may not have voted. Let’s assume 50% of those citizens are not eligible or capable of voting. That leaves 938,816 voters who definitely could change the course of Minnesota’s future.
Please vote!
As for Christians that say there is no need for you to vote, Jesus will fix it someday - that’s interesting - like the song goes “God, why don’t you do something” and he says, “I did, I made you.” - So, go and vote for conservatism and hopefully an end to slicing and dicing our unborn infants and minor children from all states.
Please Vote!
