On Monday, June 20

On Monday, June 20, 45 golfers hit the links at the Slayton Country Club, for G.O.L.F. XXIV (the 24th annual Great Outdoor Lutheran Fundraiser) in support of Shetek Lutheran Ministries. It was very hot and windy but that provided plenty of excuses for errant shots!! With the help of our golfers and sponsors we were able to raise over $5,000 for Shetek! Shetek is grateful for the many golfers who participated and the hole sponsors who support the ministry at Shetek. Pictured is the winning team of Zach Fossum, Jeff Leibfried, Jeff Allen and Joey Fossum from St. Stephen Lutheran of Marshall, MN. Shetek Lutheran Ministries is located about 11 miles north of Slayton, MN on Keeley Island in Lake Shetek and provides year round outdoor ministry programs. More information can be found on the website www.shetek.org or call 507-763-3567.

GOOD NEWS

Several years ago, I read the story of a few Christian ladies who got together each week for prayer. As time went on, they felt led of the Lord to go into different communities and do street witnessing. One evening as they were out witnessing and passing out tracts to whoever would give them a few minutes of their time to hear the gospel, one of the ladies received a vision of an apartment building and its address. “Ladies” she said, “The Holy Spirit just showed me a building with its address and apartment number; we must go there.” The building wasn’t far away so they went there, knocked on the door and heard a feeble voice of a man say, “Come in.” An elderly man was confined to his bed. They shared with him why they were there and that the Lord wanted them to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him. He told them that he had been told that he had only a few days to live and appreciated the ladies coming. He was not a Christian, but after hearing the good news of Jesus and the salvation He offered; the man received Jesus as Savior and Lord.
