OOPS! HADLEY DOES IT AGAIN!

Game On! Hadley received the #4 seed in the Region 13C playoff and faced the #5 seed, Jackson Bulls, in a series of two evenly matched teams with loads of playoff experience. Hadley survived the tough Jackson Bull team in come-from behind fashion, for the second year in a row, to advance into the semi-final round of the Region 13C baseball play-offs. The series was a hard fought, intense, nail-biter from the start. Here is the series recap:

MCMC NUMBERS REMAIN STRONG

The Murray County Medical Center Board met in the monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 27 at 8:00 a.m. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Steve Snow reported a successful day for Urologist, Dr. Rosen, with a monthly schedule to continue. The mock survey provided staff with several simulations to complete improving skills in areas not normally encountered in the facility. Privileges were granted to Jacob Bottelberghe, PA. He sees podiatry patients on a monthly basis at MCMC as an outreach service for Dr. Mahoney who provides surgical services for those patients. Dr. Snow presented the revised medical staff by-laws for the approval of the board. It has been a lengthy process to update the language and to define the roles of active and allied health professionals.

GOOD NEWS

The apostle Paul said in 2 Tim. 3:1-5 that in the last days (the days we are living in I believe); Perilous times will come. Why? He describes the breakdown of society that we see everywhere today. Men would love themselves, love money, they are boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving….without self control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors,....they love pleasure more than they love God; and they will have a form of godliness but deny its power. This means having a religion that is lifeless and powerless to bring its people to true repentance which requires the work of the Holy Spirit. Paul said in Rom. 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, …”

GREEN THUMB

July is about done and another month has passed. And our garden work continues but mostly waiting - for the produce to grow and then feed us. Some things still need doing - other than hoeing the weeds. In past years columns we’ve talked about starting a second garden. More about that in future columns.
