GIRLS REGULAR SEASON ENDS WITH A WIN AGAINST HLOF

The MCC Rebel Girls played their first Subsection 3A South playoff game on Friday night in Slayton. The Rebels were the 8th seed, so played host to the 9th-seeded Coyotes of Heron Lake Okabena Fulda. The Rebels beat the Coyotes twice during the regular season 51-27 in Fulda and 56-34 in Slayton. The Rebels were looking to make it a season sweep and advance to Super Saturday where they would face the topseeded Southwest Minnesota Christian Eagles. The Rebels hadn’t played in a Super Saturday event since 2019 when they beat Adrian.

REBEL GIRLS FALL IN FIRST PLAYOFF ROUND AGAINST EAGLES

The Murray County Central Rebel Girls wrapped up their season on Saturday in Worthington against the topseeded Southwest Minnesota Christian Eagles. The Eagles beat the Rebels twice in the regular season and this game wouldn’t be much different, as the Rebels would fall behind big early. For the Rebels, the point of playing on Saturday wasn’t about pulling off the biggest upset in SubSection history, it was simply being in the game itself that shows the Rebel’s growth. MCC has not played on a Super Saturday since 2019. It may seem like a small step but for the Rebels, hopefully, it’s the small step that leads to bigger strides.
