The MCC Rebel Football team opened the Section 3A playoffs at home against the Russell Tyler Ruthton Knights Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm. The Rebels edged out the Knights for the second seed in the section and a bye in the first round after beating the Knights in the regular season, though each team ended the year 6-2. RTR beat BOLD on Tuesday to advance to the semifinals to play the Rebels. The winner on Saturday would advance to play for a Section Final on Halloween.

This year the theme is “Hunting” We encourage you to decorate a tree, area of the home, or even a whole room. Use your imagination to come up with something fun! The trees will be provided by the Murray County Museum.

Practice for the Slayton Area Community Band’s Christmas Concert will be Tuesdays, November 11th, 18th, 25th, AND December 2nd. The band will practice in the high school band room at 7 PM! Any band member ages 13 and over! Students are welcome to play with the Community Band!
