MCC/FULDA WARRIORS PERFORM WELL AT

By Allie Paulzine The MCC/F Warriors had a strong performance at the Section 3A Cross Country Championships on Thursday, October 23 in Madison, MN.

For the boys, it was a powerful race that earned three state qualifiers.

Aiden Appel led the way for the Warriors, qualifying for state with a phenomenal 4th-place finish and a time of 16:53.6, showing great endurance and pacing throughout the course. Joining him at state is Alexander Betz, who ran an outstanding race to place 9th overall in 16:58.2, and Matthew Stapek, who also punched his ticket to state with a 10th-place finish in 16:58.7.

These three worked together throughout the season. They crossed the line within seconds of each other, showing how strong the Warrior pack truly is. Micah Janssen followed with a great race, running 19:16.3, and Beckett Stelter wasn’t far behind at 19:20.6. Tyler Reith ran a steady race with a time of 19:46.3, and Wesley Hause finished in 20:02.0, rounding out a tight and determined varsity squad.

The boys’ consistent performances earned them an impressive third-place team fin-ish overall, a reflection of their teamwork and grit.

On the girls’ side, Mara Clarke qualified for the State Meet with an incredible performance, placing 9th overall in 20:12.2. She ran with confidence from start to finish, setting the tone for her teammates.

Holland Vogel followed with a strong effort, finishing in 22:42.8, while Isabela Schreier ran a solid race in 23:24.2. Sophia Hamersma and Hadley Harms battled through the challenging course, finishing in 26:48.7 and 26:58.2 respectively, and Johana Pickard showed determination as she crossed the line in 31:21.3. The girls’ team finished 13th overall, showing steady improvement and great camaraderie throughout the season.

Congratulations to Aiden Appel, Alexander Betz, Matthew Stapek, and Mara Clarke on qualifying for the State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 1! Their dedication and drive have paid off in an incredible way, and they’ll proudly represent the MCC/F Warriors on the state course.

The Warriors wrapped up their section meet with pride, teamwork, and resilience. Every runner played a key role in the team’s success, and their efforts throughout the season truly embodied what it means to be a Warrior. Warrior proud!
