Margaret Mary (Ebbers) Baumgartner (Marge) was born on February 9, 1933 near Iona, MN to Frank and Rose (Kappes) Ebbers. She passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026 with family by her side and her rosary laying on her blanket over her heart.

Marge grew up on farms near Iona and attended St. Columba Catholic School in Iona where she participated in school plays, declamatory, kittenball and choir. She was one of six girls with just one brother. Her family loved to sing together and harmonized beautifully. Marge played the accordion, harpsichord and organ. She graduated from St. Columba in 1951 and went on to earn her LPN (licensed practical nurse) degree at Rochester School of Vocational Nursing in May of 1952. Marge married Virg Baumgartner on April 18, 1953 at St. Columba Catholic Church in Iona. They lived most of their married life in Worthington, MN after short stints in New Jersey and Hawaii while Virg was in service. Marge worked as an LPN for a short time. They raised six children. Marge was a woman of deep faith in God and was an active member of St. Mary’s church where she enjoyed singing alto in the church choir. She regularly decorated the Church, using her skills with flowers and loved sharing her faith as a catechist for many children over the years. She had a special devotion to Mary and faithfully prayed the rosary all her life. Marge was an at-home mom until all were in school. She later worked as an Activity Director at Fauskee’s Nursing home and at Flower Lane arranging flowers.

Marge loved being with family and enjoyed playing cards and games, watching ball games, dancing and especially singing. She cherished the many wonderful gatherings at her home where she welcomed everyone.

Margaret is survived by her 6 children all in Minnesota: Kathy (Tom) Suby, Marshall; Dianne (Brian) Crowley, Slayton; Sherrie Le, Lino Lakes; Mike (Vicki) Baumgartner, Ham Lake; Dave (Mary) Baumgartner, Wyoming; Leanne (Scott) Casanova, Eagan; fifteen grandchildren, Andrew, Amy, Matt & Amanda; Stephanie & Shawn; Jenny; Luke, Brian & Lindsey; Angela, Eric & Ryan; Dylan & Luke; thirty great-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Joyce Ebbers, Worthington; Kathy Fodness, Worthington; and Barb Baumgartner, Hudson, WI.
