Passed away on May 26th, 2026 at the young age of 64 years.
Born on Jan 7th 1962 to Doris (Paul) and Robert (Bob) Skillings at St. Mary’s in Minneapolis. She grew up in Minneapolis, Fargo area and Slayton. She graduated from Glyndon. She lived in Minneapolis after graduation and met Michael (Mike) Bohmer who had 2 boys of his own, Michael and Bobby. Charlotte welcomed those boys into her life and together her and Mike brought Misty and Marcie into the world. The two of them did not continue to live together for long but they continued to co-parent the kids without issues. Charlotte and the girls later moved to be near her mom, Doris, in Avoca MN. Charlotte raised her girls with the aide of Scooter (Scott) Burger in their trailer home in Avoca after living with Dori for a few years. She was proud to be on the Avoca Fire and Rescue squad for several years. Charlotte spent most of her life working in customer service. She worked at Dairy Queen in Minneapolis for years then worked at the Country Host and Royal Loon in Slayton. She also worked in Tracy MN at Mentronics for a little while. She moved back to the cities for a few years and worked at Zakia Deli. She returned to the Avoca area and settled in Fulda, MN and most recently worked at Dollar General in Fulda. One thing you could get from Char was a smart allick comment. She enjoyed a good Marlboro and a cold Miller Lite. Charlotte worked her butt off in every job she had. She also at times had a short fuse but never stayed mad for long. Her kids could always count on her if they needed anything. She didnt have much for money but she always offfered her time to help if needed.
She loved hanging with her family and friends, camping and her cats. Collecting Gnomes and Coca-Cola stuff was her favorite. Thrifting was one of her favorite pass times as well as rummage sales. Never passing up on a good deal. She liked to joke around and make others laugh. She was everyone’s Grandma Char or Auntie Char. She loved bigger than her heart.
She found out in April she had Lung Cancer and by early May she found out it was fast growing. She got a port placed and did 1 cycle if Chemo. The Cancer was too aggressive and she went to the Hospital on Friday the 22nd due to shortness of breath. They tried everything they could but she just kept getting worse. She opted to go home to her daughter’s to be with family on Hospice Services. Charlotte passed away where she wanted to with lots of loved ones near. The Cancer spread to her liver, kidneys and a few other areas. She put up a good fight but the Cancer was too aggressive.
