By Arnold Krusemark Several big events of this week, ready or not.
First is Halloween, We’ve discussed some of our events in years past. We will remember now back in country school one year we had a Halloween program (instead of Christmas). One of our 8th graders played a ghost. We don’t remember anything else.
This year weather may be below freezing. The question now is when will we get the first snow. Fortunately any frost or early snow will still melt coming morning.
And then this coming week-end will be the end of DST. Mother used to talk about getting back the hour we lost in the Spring. Now we will have daylight only for work hours and then even less.
This is the time to be sure your winter projects are done or well in progress. Our emails still include sales of tulip bulbs and other outside plants.
And then there’s the fetching of the remaining garden produce. This will probably be done mostly on week-ends now. Always seems enough work to get done. Don’t forget your house plants too. Until next week.
