Murray County Central Superintendent Joe Meyer extended his heartfelt thanks Tuesday night to district residents for approving the operating levy referendum on November 4. Vote totals were 548 YES, and 510 NO (52% to 48%) “We are incredibly grateful for our community’s continued support,” Meyer said. “This approval allows us to maintain our current programs, keep class sizes reasonable, and continue providing high-quality learning opportunities for our students.”

By Allie Paulzine The Murray County Central/ Fulda Warriors wrapped up their season at the MSHSL Class A State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights. Sophomore Aiden Appel had a standout day, running a personal- best time of 16:39.9 to place 25th overall and earn All-State honors.

By Christina Walker In the Counseling Center, I recently wrapped up Senior Meetings, taking time to connect with each of our seniors individually, along with many of their parents. We talked through graduation progress, plans for the upcoming year, and next steps. Throughout these conversations with students and parents, there were many questions about Financial Aid and paying for college. Murray County Central hosted Financial Aid night October 6 and we talked through the process of filling out the FAFSA. If you weren’t able to make it to Financial Aid Night and have questions, the presentation is posted on the School Counselor page on the MCC website. Feel free to email me with specific questions as well! The FAFSA is now open but there may be some delays in processing due to the government shutdown. For those families who filled out the FAFSA last year, the process should be pretty much the same. The senior class will have a meeting in January to go over the MCC Scholarship program and reminders to prepare for gradua-tion. Don’t forget to keep working on your Personal Learning Plan!

The MCC Rebels were in Marshall on Halloween to play for the Section 3A title and a trip to the state tournament. MCC was looking to end a four game losing streak to the Springfield Tigers, including a loss in last year’s Section Final 20 to 10. In what was a hard fought game and a back and forth first half, the Rebels punched their ticket to state.

Wealth and nice things are ok, but to have the truest joy a person could possibly want, is to have all of their sins forgiven, by the shed blood of Jesus Christ; - to have your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
