In a game that had it all, a walk-off solo bomb by Jaden Deacon would win the section showdown for the Rebels in the bottom of the seventh. 7-6 over the Minneota Vikings.

It was a beautiful day for MCC’s varsity to face off in a triangular against HLOF/WWG and SWMCH-EHS this past Thursday. The Rebels were able to work on their game in preparation for their upcoming conference meet on Tuesday. MCC’s golfers represented well and enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere.

It was the perfect day at Worthington Country Club for the final Red Rock Conference meet on Tuesday. Some of MCC’s golfers were well prepared for the challenging 18hole course, while others were making their first appearance. Overall, the Rebels played very well and walked away with some hardware.

The MCC Rebels were at home for the final time this season on Thursday when they played host to the Adrian Ellsworth Dragons. The Rebels beat the Dragons in Ellsworth earlier this season but the Dragons are a young team that has been getting better over the course of the season. The Rebels were looking to get back on the winning track after losing to Mountain Lake Area Comfrey earlier in the week. In a tough hard-fought game the Rebels would come up with a win.

Both teams were strong on the mound Monday, but the Rebels defeated the A/E Dragons 3-1 in the Red Rock showdown. Dylan Kluis earned the victory for MCC as the lefty went six and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits and struck out five batters.

The Rebels get the win using a big second inning to take control over MLAC. The six run inning would be half the runs the Rebels would produce in the 12-2 win in five innings.

MCC out-hit Edgerton/SWC 12 to 8, but it wasn’t enough to overcome 11 fielding errors and other uncharacteristic mistakes in the five inning loss, 13-8. Dylan Kluis started on the hill for the Rebels and the game would start ominously for MCC.

The MCC Rebels wrapped up their Red Rock Conference schedule on Monday when they played at Edgerton. The Rebels finished the season in third place in the conference with Edgerton Southwest Christian taking the title and Mountain Lake Area Comfrey finishing in second place.
