By Arnold Krusemark This column will arrive with you readers the last day of the Murray County Fair this year.
We hope the Fair has been interesting in many ways. If you exhibited anything, we are sure you took careful note of what other exhibits won the prizes.
Now it will be time to take home the exhibits. In past years, some of our exhibits ended up on the dinner table.
And then there’s the next activity - canning and freezing.
In past columns we mentioned canning supplies including food to be canned are now on sale and for sale.
In the days before electricity and refrigeration what we canned had to help out in winter meals. And then there’s what our garden is producing now to help with current meals.
And, a final fair event - the parade Saturday. This writer has been a participant in years past. We do hope it won’t rain for the parade this year. Otherwise its back to work. Garden, yard, and house plants work. The inside projects are usually done rainy days.
And school will be starting soon too.
Until next week.
