In the season opener MCC would travel to Sleep Eye high school to take on the Sleepy Eye Public on Friday night and would return to Sleepy Eye Saturday morning to battle Sleepy Eye St. Mary. A fun way to start the season, using the first game to get some nerves out, develop chemistry, and give the team a starting point to build off of and a second game shortly after to work on conditioning, competing, and scheme development among other aspects of the game.

Sleepy Eye St. Mary would prove to be a tougher opponent Saturday morning. This team was in the state semifinals a year ago and is returning three of its top players from a season ago. A preseason top 10 ranked team in state was going to be a great test to see where the Rebels stand.

In the moment, you may not realize how severe the situation of impaired driving is, or that you were even engaging in it. However, impaired driving is a serious issue that impacts our community every day.
