COURT QUEEN OF PEACE #1558

Court Queen of Peace met Nov. 23 beginning with the Memorial Mass for the deceased members of Court Queen of Peace, Court St. Theresa #973 and the local Knights of Columbus. The Daughters honored were Betty Dahlhoff, Vonnie DeYonge, Jean Hentges, Margaret Slinger and Darlene LeClaire.

After a light meal, Marlys Knuth introduced FOCUS missionary student, Rachel Tschaen from Valpariso, IN who gave an interesting talk on her experiences there recruiting students to the faith.

Regent Joann Halbur called the meeting to order and Father Thien Nguyen offered the prayer. Secretary Jeaneen Nelson read a thank you note from Marcie Cowan, Faith Formation director, thanking the CDA for their monetary and spiritual support.

Amy Kathman, JCDA advisor, stated that they will be meeting Dec. 5 to plan activities and look for new members.

Barb Surprenant, legislative chair, requested that someone else take over her position.

Regent Joann sent a congratulatory note to the Blue Earth court on their 100th anniversary. Marlys Knuth and Jeaneen Nelson attended the Mass and luncheon.

The CDA Christmas party will be at 5:30 on Dec. 15 at the Pizza Ranch. A good time to remember your Heart Sister.

There was a discussion about remembering some of our parishioners with baked goods, cash, gift cards or fruit. Those items should be left at Divine Mercy Hall by noon on Dec. 12. Call Jeaneen Nelson 507 836 8142 if you have questions or know of someone who would appreciate being remembered.

CDA will be delivering Meals-On-Wheels the week of Dec. 13-17. Volunteers are appreciated.

The meeting closed with Father Thein Nguyen’s spiritual thought, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
