THEOLOGY IN THE TRENCHES

By Kathleen Kjolhaug Two hours had passed as I scrubbed, soaked, and scrubbed some more the sticky labels from the poetic looking olive oil jars standing near the window sill. Popping out the plastic pour spout stuck all snug in the rim was easier than anticipated.

GOOD NEWS

The apostle Peter warned us that in the last days many scoffers would mock the return of Jesus Christ and declare, “All things continue as they were from the beginning. He isn’t going to return,” (2 Peter 3:3-4). Noah was a preacher of righteousness, and he preached for one hundred years concerning the coming judgment, and all the people could do was mock him and ridicule him; but in fact judgment came. When God closed the door on the ark, and the rain started falling, and ground water started flooding the earth, I’ll bet that many were screaming and pounding on the door begging to get into the Ark; but by then, it was too late- they were doomed. Jesus Christ is our Ark today. His side was opened at calvary, and whosoever will, can come to Him in sincere repentance, receive Him into their heart by faith, and become His disciples. He is the door, and the only doorway into everlasting life. In Acts 4:12 Peter said: “There is no other name given among men under heaven whereby we must be saved. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes unto the Father but by Me.” (John 14:12). You may have heard for many years that Jesus is coming for those who belong to Him; please, believe it and surrender your life to Him, - your good works will never save you. God bless.
