COMMISSIONERS HEAR MEDICAL CENTER REPORT

The Murray County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, October 04, 2022. Murray County Medical Center CEO, Luke Schryvers, presented his monthly report of activities. A September 12 interview with a potential provider went well and an offer was presented to her. However, she has received several other offers to consider with a decision to be made by the end of October. She will not complete her studies until 2023. The City of Slayton has asked for exploration of other options to finance ambulance purchases after a request was made for a rate increase. Based on population the rate falls heavily on the city. There is a remaining balance of $635,000 in Covid grants that can be used for purchases. MCMC has been selected to participate in the Center for Optimizing Rural Health program to improve quality of care and address the challenges of rural health care. September was a strong month ending with a positive net income.

So, if each of us takes the time to donate $5, tell 5 friends, give 5 hours, invite 5 people to join in the campaign and then add 5 more, the result will be exponential growth. Our goal is to be able to continue to support the various programs that will help our communities grow and become stronger. By working together we can cause a ripple effect that will lead to substantial impact for every person in every community we serve, every day of the year, shared Zahrbock. Zahrbock has resided in Marshall since 1994 with his wife, Shana and two children, Sadie Schaefer and husband Nolan Schaefer, son Simon and fiancée Morgan Kommer.
