MCC GIRLS BASKETBALL START THE WEEK ON THE ROAD

The MCC Rebel Girls were on the road Monday night as they traveled to Cottonwood to take on the Lakeview Lakers. Both teams had practiced just one time in the last week which set up an interesting matchup of two one-win teams. The Rebels’ were hoping to bounce back after blowing a 13-point lead over the last 12 minutes of their game against Mountain Lake Area Comfrey. The Lakers had a 3 game losing streak heading into Monday’s matchup but the young Laker team was hoping to see some positive improvements taking on the Rebels. It would be a higher-scoring first half than expected but the Rebels came through.

Rebel Roundup

As we celebrate the holiday season, we wish to extend our thanks to everyone in the community who has supported our school and students during this special time of year. Your help with school programs and projects, presences at extracurricular activities and support of our staff and students is a tremendous gift to all of us. I would like to say a special thanks to the “Secret Santas” who stepped forward to provide gifts to some of our families this Christmas.

REBELS FINALLY BACK IN ACTION WITH A WIN ON THE ROAD

The MCC Rebel Boys Basketball team hadn’t played a game since December third when they beat Sleepy Eye Public but seventeen days between contests the Rebels were finally back on the court. MCC traveled to Ellsworth to take on the Dragons of Adrian Ellsworth in the team’s first Red Rock Conference game of the season. The Dragons have been the busier team so far this season as they entered the game with a 0-4 record compared to the Rebel’s 1-1. MCC would take a couple of minutes to warm up but when they did the Dragons couldn’t keep up.

WARRIORS BATTLE AT THE RIVER RIOT

The FMCC Warriors braved treacherous roads to make the trip to Redwood Falls early Friday afternoon arriving well before dark to prepare for the wrestling tournament that would begin on Saturday. The weather and road conditions caused the tournament to cancel Fridays events and move everything to Saturday to allow ample time for wrestlers to arrive.
