On March 26, 2023 at approximately 2: 15 a.m., the Slayton Police Department was dispatched to First National Bank on Broadway Avenue for a party that had allegedly dialed 911 to report that he had broken a window out of the bank. When an officer arrived on the scene, he located a male party believed to be the caller, and it appeared as though 3 windows of the bank had been broken. The report states that the suspect did not enter the bank and only reached inside to use the phone to dial 911. The bank was not entered and there does not appear to have been any intent to do so.
Corey Duane Warner, 34, of Balaton was arrested and transported to the Lyon County Jail. He is charged with 1 count of 151 Degree Criminal Damage to property. Bail has been set at $50,000 without conditions or $25,000 with conditions.
