REBEL BOYS END SEASON WITH NAIL BITER

The Murray County Central Rebels traveled south this past Wednesday night to take on the Russell Tyler Ruthton Knights in the SubSection 3A South Semifinals. The Rebels lost to the Knights 67 to 40 in Slayton on January 16th in a game that was probably closer on the scoreboard than it was on the floor. RTR dominated the game and it would be the first of three straight losses by the Rebels, their longest losing streak of the season. MCC was looking to avenge that loss and upset maybe the best Class A team in the southern portion of the state.

GOOD NEWS

A Christian worker was doing his best to lead a friend to the Lord Jesus Christ; asking him to please accept the grace of God in Christ by faith alone. The friend said, “I will never believe until I have an experience first.” Said the Christian worker, “You will never have an experience until you believe.” He was right of course.

QUEEN COURT OF PEACE MEETING MINUTES

Court Queen of Peace met February 25, 2023 at 9 AM with 15 members present. Father Thien Nguyen led the meal prayer and all enjoyed the meal prepared and served by Marge Schoon and her committee. The Memorare was said followed by the flag pledge and business meeting. The minutes from the January 28th meeting were not read due to the absence of the secretary. In the absence of the treasurer, the report was read by vice regent, Deanna Konkol. The financial secretary, SOS chair, youth chair and spirituality chairs were all absent but there was a reminder from the youth chair that there will be Shadow Stations on March 15. Regent Amy Kathman summarized the information she has gotten from the state legislative chair indicating that the Senate passed a bill that would codify (create a law by means of legislation) that would give an individual access to reproductive health care. Governor Walz is expected to sign the bill into law.

Know What You Believe

THIS CHURCH OR THAT CHURCH – THAT IS THE QUESTION. I have served as pastor in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) for nearly 50 years and over that time I have been amazed at the lack of understanding about church denominations and other world influences around them.

THEOLOGY IN THE TRENCHES

Deafening Silence Brings Hope Bleary eyed I awoke —the morning after. You know the kind of morning I speak of—the one where something went horribly wrong the night before and the sickening waves within try to make sense of it.
