COURT QUEEN OF PEACE

Court Queen of Peace met in the social room of St. Ann’s School on Saturday, March 23 at 9 AM. Regent Amy Kathman with 11 members present called the meeting to order, recited the Memorare and flag pledge. In the absence of the treasurer due to illness, there was no report. Amy read notes from the February meeting. The members were reminded of the dues of $25.

We are now approaching the end of another month. No snowstorms yet. And only a few flurries arrived - so far. We have not mentioned several holidays and other events which happened this month. St. Patrick’s Day was a past Sunday. Spring arrived March 19th just before midnight. This Sunday will be Palm Sunday. And Good Friday and Easter Sunday will be next week-end.

UNITED METHODIST CRADLE ROLL

The Slayton United Methodist Church Outreach team has been working hard to bring back an old tradition. The Cradle Roll originated in 1877, as a birthday list. The real purpose of the Cradle Roll is to secure cooperation between the home and the church in the training of the child during the first few years of life. To bring to the parents a service of their greatest responsibilities toward the child and his or her relationship to God, church and community.

MURRAY COUNTY 4-H HOSTED ANNUAL 4-H CLOVERBUD PJ PARTY

Murray County 4-H along with the Murray County 4-H Ambassadors hosted their annual Cloverbud PJ Party on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Murray County 4-H Building. The annual Cloverbud PJ Party is hosted each year to give the younger 4-H’ers a turn for an event just for them.

Though most of us stopped wearing the uniform years ago, veterans have a deepseated need to continue serving their communities. There are 537 American Legion posts throughout Minnesota, and 193 of them have charitable gambling operations. We use the funds to carry out our four pillars: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Children & Youth, and Americanism. That is why The American Legion Department of Minnesota fought the state Legislature’s changes to e-pulltabs last year so fiercely, alongside many other organizations with charitable gambling.
