Dinehart Lunchbox Lecture to Host Cindy Wilson, on her book “We Suffered Much: Charles Wood Irish and the Dakota Territory Railroad Survey of 18791881” The Murray County Historical Society invites the public to attend its November Dinehart Lunchbox Lecture on Thursday, December 12th, 2024, in the 4-H building on the Murray County Fairgrounds in Slayton starting at noon. This month’s lecture will feature Cindy Wilson speaking on her new book, “We Suffered Much: Charles Wood Irish and the Dakota Territory Railroad Survey of 18791881.”

The Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce is spreading holiday cheer with its annual Christmas Decorating Contest! This festive competition invites Slayton residents to showcase their creativity and brighten up the season with dazzling outdoor displays.

Many Murray County 4-H members and volunteers were recognized at the annual awards banquet held on Sunday, November 24 at the Murray County 4-H Building. Murray County 4-H Ambassadors along with Cameron and Chandler Hilltoppers 4-H Club hosted this event where the theme was, “Murray County 4-H Values Tradition.” The menu consisted of a shredded pork sandwich, mashed potatoes, cowboy beans, cornbread, and some fall desserts.
