OVERGAAUW SISTERS COMPETE AT HAMLINE ELITE MEET

The Hamline Elite meet is one of Minnesota’s premier track and field meets. The meet is unique in Minnesota, since it combines the best of the best across all three classes in Minnesota at one meet, vying to become the Hamline Elite Meet champion. Athletes must meet a qualifying standard in order to be eligible to compete at this meet as only 9-16 athletes are fielded in each event. Murray County Central standouts Ashley and Amanda Overgaauw both qualified with Ashley in the 1600 and Amanda in the 3200.

MCC BASEBALL CELEBRATES WIN

MCC ran off with the lead late in the game for a 6-4 victory over a good A/E Dragon squad on Thursday. The game was tied at four with MCC batting in the bottom of the fifth when Connor DeGreeff doubled on the first pitch of his at bat, scoring a run to take the lead that the Rebels would never relinquish.

TRACKSTERS TRAVEL TO WORTHINGTON FOR INVITATIONAL

After losing a couple of meets due to weather, the MCC Track teams added a meet in Worthington on April 27. This would be the biggest meet the Rebels would participate in up to this point of the season as twelve teams were entered.

MCNAB HITS GRAND SLAM

The MCC Rebels were back at home on Tuesday afternoon beginning their second trip through the Red Rock Conference Softball Schedule. The Rebels took on the Coyotes of Heron Lake Okabena Fulda. The Rebels beat the Coyotes to open the season in a game in which the Rebels did more running than hitting. On Tuesday, the Rebel bats were alive from the first pitch to the last.

REBELS LOSE AT HOME VS. EDGERTON/SWC

The MCC Rebels were three and one entering Thursdays game in Slayton versus Edgerton Southwest Minnesota Christian. The Rebels were hoping to beat the Flying Dutchmen to put them in first place in the Red Rock Conference but that wasn’t to be. Edg/ SWC was coming in ready to hit from pitch one. The Rebels found out firsthand why the Flying Dutchmen have been the conference champions year in and year out.

REBELS BEAT UNDEFEATED EAGLES

In a big conference clash, the undefeated Edgerton/SWC baseball team played the one loss Rebels in Edgerton. The Rebels would get on the board first in the top half of the first inning.

GIRLS BEAT MLA/C ON THE ROAD

The MCC Rebels were on the road Monday to play a makeup game with the Wolverines of Mountain Lake Area Comfrey. With both teams having experienced players coming back from a season ago, one expected a close contest and it was. The Rebels beat the Wolverines last year twice, both in games that came down to the very end. Monday was no different.
