LETTER TO THE EDITOR

A BIG thank you to EVERYONE who worked so hard to make the Tribute to Veterans and the Murray County Fair such memorable occasions! It makes me proud to be from this area.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Having just returned home from the Murray County Fair, let me begin with WOW! I believe thank you’s are in order. First, to all of our military, past and present. Your service is appreciated! Then, to Brad Pagel, Commander of the American Legion Erwin March Post 64, Slayton, MN, who had the idea to bring the American Veterans Traveling Tribute to Murray County and was instrumental in making it happen! Also, thank you to all of the area donors, fire trucks, law enforcement personnel, others who made the entrance to town memorable, those who helped set up the display, and finally, to the OVERWHELMING crowd who attended the opening ceremony. The soccer field was a great location for this. How lucky we were to have this piece of history come to us!

I’d also like to thank the Murray County Fair Board, who created a widely varied line-up of activities to make our fair, once again, one of the BEST around! There truly was something for everybody! To EVERYONE who contributed in some way to make this all happen, 4-H organizers, parents, participants, vendors, anyone who provided food, entertained us, exhibited, set up, cleaned up, manned the bouncy houses or fair buildings, did something behind the scenes that nobody saw or came and enjoyed the fair. The list is endless! Many of you were there EVERY day! It took a county. And THIS county showed up with AMAZING results! Thank you!
