Katelyn Ruppert, who has worked as an intern during the summer months at Investors Choice, Slayton, has completed her work there as of last Thursday. She will be attending Lake Area Technical College in Watertown, SD, where she is dual majoring in Consumer and Agri Financial Services.

The Southwest Regional Development Commission (SRDC)’s Full Commission will meet on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Westbrook Community Center, Westbrook, MN. Some members may be attending via interactive technology.

Court Queen of Peace met on Aug. 18, 2026 with 20 members present at Gullard Park for the first meeting of the year with potluck supper. Regent Deanna Konkol called the meeting to order with prayer and flag pledge. In the absence of secretary and treasurer Deanna offered a synopsis of the secretary and treasurer’s reports. The collection box was passed for donations to Support Our Seminarians or Support Our Sisters. There were no other committee reports.

By John Stenen The apostle Peter said in Acts 4:12, “There is no other name given among men under heaven, whereby we must be saved.” He is speaking of Jesus of course. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Me.” That pretty much shuts the door to all those who think there are many ways to get to heaven. We are confronted with making decisions constantly; however, I believe the most important decision we are confronted with in life is, ‘What will we do with Jesus Christ?’ This is so important because our eternal destiny will be determined by the choice we make. If you accept Him, then you are to be His follower. That means you love Him, you serve Him, you keep His commandments. He is to be the Lord of your life. Paul said to Titus in Chapter one, “Many profess to know Christ but in their daily lives they prove that they do not know Him.” These people are only deceiving themselves. What choice did or will you make concerning Jesus? God bless.
