REBELS CELEBRATE BIG HOMECOMING WIN ON FOOTBALL FIELD

Friday was a very busy day for MCC students. Classes, a pep fest, parade, the Cross Country runners running from Tyler to Slayton, and finally it was time for the football game. The Rebels and the Knights have played each of the past two seasons with each team winning by shutout. The Rebels lost to RTR two years ago in Tyler 22-0 and a year ago the Rebels beat the Knights in Slayton 48-0. Friday night both teams would score unlike the past two years, but like the last two meetings, the final score wouldn’t be all that close, as the Rebels would hand the Knights their first loss of the season.

GREEN THUMB

By Arnold Krusemark Several events have now passed. While our days are nice we are starting to get colder days. One night recently it got down to 39 degrees (but up to 90 a day or two later). We will have good growing days for a while yet but probably not below freezing until November. Also Monday, September 22nd about 1 pm it became Autumn. No real change in much yet but the days are getting shorter. And will until in December.

GOOD NEWS

By John Stenen Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all practiced the ‘Golden Rule’ and did unto others as we would have them do unto us, Luke 6:31. The real purpose of man is to know God and enjoy Him forever; and the only way that can happen is to know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father but by Me.” Now that is pretty clear to me. Also, in 1 John 5:11-12, “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life, whoever does not have the Son does not have life.”
