URGENT CALL FOR BLOOD DONATIONS, JOIN IN TO HELP OCTOBER 7TH

Murray County Central High School and Murray County Medical Center will host community blood drives on Tuesday, October 7th. Murray County High School will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Murray County Medical Center will host the blood drive from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with donor registration inside the hospital lobby. Donors can schedule a donations time by logging onto cbblifeblood. org, selecting “Donate Blood” and “Blood Drive Calendar,” then selecting October 7. Donors can also call Community Blood Bank at 605-331-3222. All those who donate blood will receive a $20 Subway gift card as a thank you gift.

DINEHART LUNCHBOX LECTURE TO HOST GREG GAUT, ON HIS NEW BOOK “THE WAR AT HOME: MINNESOTA DURING THE GREAT WAR, 1914-1920” The Murray County Historical Society invites the public to attend its first Lunchbox Lecture of the season on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, in the 4-H building on the Murray County Fairgrounds in Slayton starting at noon. This month’s lecture will feature author and historian Greg Gaut.

MURRAY COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY INVITES EVERYONE TO THEIR 2025 ANNUAL MEETING

The Murray County Historical Society will be holding their 2025 annual meeting on Sunday, October 12th at the Key Largo Ballroom starting at 2pm. There will be a short business meeting followed by a presentation by local author and historian Janet Timmerman. Light refreshments will be provided.

CORRECTION

In the 9-29-2025 issue of the Murray County Wheel Herald, the article “Both Nutrition and Socialization Available at Senior Dining”, mentioned that Connie Berglund manages the Slayton and Westbrook Meal Sites. She is actually manager of Slayton and Tracy Senior Dining Meal sites, while Terri Heffner is the manager of the Fulda and Westbrook sites.
