WARRIOR WRESTLING SEASON OFF TO AN EXCITING START

Wrestling for the Fulda/MCC fighting Warriors has finally begun, and with twenty three wrestlers on the roster its going to be a little bit different this season. With five new seventh graders and two more upper classmen the team has added to its ranks once again with some fresh blood.

MURRAY COUNTY 4-H RECOGNIZES NATIONAL COMPUTER SCIENCE WEEK

Murray County 4-H youth participated in an hour of coding to recognize National Computer Science Week. Youth gathered after school on December 7 to challenge themselves to code Edison Robots with both Block and Scratch coding languages.

MCC VS. SLEEPY EYE HIGH SCHOOL MCC 52 - SEHS 19

In the season opener MCC would travel to Sleep Eye high school to take on the Sleepy Eye Public on Friday night and would return to Sleepy Eye Saturday morning to battle Sleepy Eye St. Mary. A fun way to start the season, using the first game to get some nerves out, develop chemistry, and give the team a starting point to build off of and a second game shortly after to work on conditioning, competing, and scheme development among other aspects of the game.

MCC VS. SLEEPY EYE ST. MARY SESM 66 – MCC 51

Sleepy Eye St. Mary would prove to be a tougher opponent Saturday morning. This team was in the state semifinals a year ago and is returning three of its top players from a season ago. A preseason top 10 ranked team in state was going to be a great test to see where the Rebels stand.

MYSTERIES, MISCHIEF, AND MAYHEM OF MURRAY COUNTY FOR DECEMBER’S DINEHART LUNCHBOX LECTURE

The Murray County Historical Society invites the public to attend the December Dinehart Lunchbox Lecture on Thursday, December 9 starting at noon in the 4-H building on the Murray County Fairgrounds in Slayton. The cost of the talk is $3.00 per person or Historical Society members get in free. Bring your own lunch. Beverages and light snacks are provided.

It is now December and most of us would declare Winter has arrived. It may get warm enough to melt some of the snow but that remains to be seen.

NATIONAL IMPAIRED DRIVING PREVENTION MONTH

December is National Impaired Driving Prevention Month. Have you ever had a drink or two and questioned whether you were still O.K. to drive? Have you ever been a passenger in a vehicle where the driver had been drinking? In the moment, you may not realize how severe the situation of impaired driving is, or that you were even engaging in it. However, impaired driving is a serious issue that impacts our community every day.

GOOD NEWS

Many believe that God chose our eternal destination by determining who would go to heaven and who would go to hell. If this is how our eternal destiny is determined, then we may as well shut down all evangelism and close all Churches that do their best to reach those who are ‘lost.’ Well, thank God, that is not the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

COURT QUEEN OF PEACE #1558

Court Queen of Peace met Nov. 23 beginning with the Memorial Mass for the deceased members of Court Queen of Peace, Court St. Theresa #973 and the local Knights of Columbus. The Daughters honored were Betty Dahlhoff, Vonnie DeYonge, Jean Hentges, Margaret Slinger and Darlene LeClaire.
