LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor, I recently attended the County Commissioners meeting in December. I was startled and saddened at the result of the vote for helping to fund Wonder World, which they had recently funded. But because of an error in how the funds were initially designated, the motion had to be corrected, which it was and after the motion was 2nd, the vote was taken and it did not pass. It’s unbelievable to me that this motion failed, for not an explainable reason. I’m a grandma, but I can appreciate that parents need to have a daycare facility that not only cares for their children, but is also a pre-school, a before and after school care for their children! I pray, seriously, pray, that the next and new commissioners will be more insightful and when this motion is reintroduced, that it will pass overwhelmingly! Just remember commissioners, this is not just for Slayton; it’s for the County of which you represent. It is your job to make sure all of its citizens are fairly and equally represented!

Ask A Trooper

Question: I’m wondering about a light that seems to only be on at night on the traffic lights. It’s a small purple or blueish light that’s near the traffic lights. I’ve tried to figure out what its use is or if it’s a camera. I’ve asked other people what it means and I’ve never met anyone who knows what it is. Thank you!
