Murray County 4-H hosted the Southwest Livestock Judging Contest on Wednesday, June 18. Participants spent the whole day at the Murray County Fairgrounds, judging swine, beef cattle, goats, and sheep.
35 youth from Murray, Jackson, Lincoln, Brown, Cottonwood, and Nobles counties participated in three different age divisions. The attendees spent the morning making their placings for each of the eight classes of livestock. After lunch, youth met with the judge and other officials to explain their reasoning for their rankings. Awards were given to top placing individuals and teams.
